Compassion Projects: Nurturing Core Competencies

Fill your heart and help your students make connections with the people in your neighbourhood. The workshop is based on two class community projects that incorporate learning opportunities and core competencies throughout students' experiences. Learn how to organize connections between your class and the community to help increase students' sense of purpose, pride, confidence, engagement and joy. Come and see how we can encourage, stimulate and foster compassion as well as create future leaders and caregivers.

  • Liliana Pesce

    Liliana began her teaching career in Surrey.  She taught both primary and intermediate grades and also dedicated several years to teaching Core French.  Liliana currently teaches Grade 4/5 in Smithers.  Liliana loves working with children of all ages and she is passionate about learning and teaching languages.  Throughout her teaching career, Liliana has connected with French teachers throughout the province, offering workshops based on teaching units she creates.  Presenting around the province is an experience that enriches Liliana's professional development; she enjoys meeting innovative and curious teachers who motivate her to improve her teaching practice.
