Power Play - Intermediate Place Value Games and Activities

Come prepared to play games that incorporate the use of cards, regular dice and number lines - easy to find manipulatives that are perfect for PV concepts at the intermediate level.  The games and strategies will focus on the following concepts:  exploring whole numbers to the millions, decimals, rounding and expanding numbers, identifying place value, working with powers of 10.  Participants will learn strategies for social distancing and ideas for engaging remote learners.   Handout will include gameboards, concept skill checklists.  This workshop will provide many strategies for rebuilding the gaps that many students have after a year of covid, ideas for differentiating the games to meet the needs of all learners will be shared throughout the workshop. PARTICIPANTS NEED TO BRING A DECK OF CARDS AND 8 REGULAR DICE
