Participants will learn some basic protocols of the drum, how to handle and care for a drum. Participants will learn a basic way that drums are made and brief history of the drum. This is an interactive workshop, if you have a drum, please feel free to bring your drum. Participants will learn some basics songs and facilitator is willing to try new songs.

Darcy Dennis is from the Lake Babine Nation, who sits with the Likh Tsa Mis Yu (Beaver Clan) in the Grouse House. Darcy has 22 years experience of working with children in the early years. Darcy is certificated as an Early Childhood Educator with experience in pre-school, Infant Development, and Childcare who mainly worked with the PG Friendship Center across the different programs. Darcy currently sits at the Provincial Child Care Council and is an advocate for the North and Indigenous programming.
Darcy's interactive workshop will include drum protocols and will play nursery rhymes, please bring your drum, if you have one.
