When ads go viral, is it about inclusion or exploitation (or both)? This workshop invites participants to explore LGBTQ+ social justice issues through a Media Literacy lens. Bryan will share some resources to examine LGBTQ+ representation in commercials and ad campaigns. This process encourages students to consider the value or harm of corporations and companies promoting inclusion and LGBTQ+ visibility in their campaigns.
Bryan is a teacher with 20+ years of teaching experience. He is the District SOGI Support Teacher (Elementary) in Burnaby. He enjoys facilitating rich writing experiences for students, and he also advocates ensuring that LGBTQ+ students see themselves reflected in curricular resources, and classroom contexts.
