Supporting Career Education and Transitions with myBlueprint (Grades 7-9)

Whether it's a standalone course or integrated with other subjects, teaching Career Education can be both exciting (so many possibilities!) and overwhelming (where do I even start?!) myBlueprint can help support these two sentiments and much more. In this session, Grade 7, 8, and 9 teachers will be introduced to the features in myBlueprint that can help make Career Education accessible and meaningful for this age group. A demonstration of the integration of the Goals feature, Who Am I assessment suite, and Occupations database with the Portfolios tool will be highlighted. A special focus will be placed on how these features can support student transitions from grade-to-grade. Participants will have built-in exploration time to put their learning into practice.

To Bring/Important Notes

  1. Working on a laptop or desktop (as opposed to your mobile device) will be easier - I have built "play-time" into the session.
  2. If possible, please activate your myBlueprint account before getting started. Need help? Don't hesitate to contact an administrator or counsellor at your school, or reach out to myBlueprint support: support@myBlueprint.ca
