Come and learn games that incorporate the use of cards and regular dice. Many teachers at the upper elementary level are indicating that students still need a lot of practice with basic facts (+, - and x), as well as multi-digit operations and order of operations. The workshop will begin with basic fact games to build underlying fluency, then progress to games for multi-digit operations, and order of operations. Handout will contain gameboards, concept skill checklists. Ideas can be implemented first thing Monday, and can be used whole class or in small groups. COME PREPARED TO PLAY: BRING A DECK OF CARDS AND 3-8 REGULAR DICE, PRINT OUT OF HANDOUT.
Make sure you have a printed copy of the handout as well as 3 - 8 regular dice and a deck of cards (doesn't even have to be a complete deck).
