Advanced Strength Training Techniques (in-person)

Note: this workshop is in-person and will take place in the weight room at Prince George Secondary School. Ideal for PE teachers or School Sport Coaches, this workshop will include instruction, breakdown, and application of advanced strength training techniques for teaching high-school students.  Detailed instruction on the main compound lifts including the squat (and variations), bench press (and variations), deadlift (and variations) as well as plyometrics, overhead pressing, cleans, rows, and other accessory movements.  Each main exercise will be broken down into technical mastery, and will also provide staff with graduated movements to scale exercise for variable student populations.  Learn and advance your knowledge on the fundamentals and finer details of strength training.  Information on periodization and programming with group discussion and classroom troubleshooting will also be of topic.

  • Jason Cook

    Jason Cook is one of only a handful of NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists in BC.  He was the GM and Head Trainer at Xconditioning for 12 years, and has been the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Prince George Cougars, Prince George Spruce Kings, Major Midget Cougars, Major Midget Northern Capitals, Kelly Road Football, as well as a High-Performance Coach with Baseball BC.  As a strength competitor, he has won multiple National and World Championships in Powerlifting, has been a top-5 ranked lifter in Canada for over 5 years, and has amassed competition bests of a 926lbs squat, 612lbs bench press, and 722lbs deadlift.  He has taught multitudes of young and aspiring athletes in Prince George and has worked with thousands of clients over the past decade.
