Power Play - Intermediate Place Value Games and Activities

Come prepared to play games that teach and have students practice the following Place Value Concepts:  composing.decomposing numbers, comparing and identifying place value to the millions, decimals, expanding and rounding numbers, number patterns, powers of ten.  Games will incorporate the use of cards and dice, place value dice (optional) and number lines.  You will receive gameboards, concept skill checklists for assessment that can be used first thing Monday.  You will get ideas for math journals and math talk extensions. You will walk away with many practical ideas to help rebuild any learning loss, and games that can be played whole class or small group. 

To Bring/Important Notes

Make sure you have a printed copy of the handout as well as 3 - 8 regular dice and a deck of cards (doesn't even have to be a complete deck).
