In this workshop, we will present teachers with tools to teach sexual health as part of the new PE curriculum. We will also be offering the "get out of teaching free!" pass: book your school workshops with PLN today! You will have a chance to preview some of the activities and games that we use to keep sexual health education fun, challenging, and engaging. We will also be screening our new and powerful film "Beyond the Statistics: Living with HIV in Northern BC." This video was created by the Frontline Warriors, a group of speakers who share their lived experiences with HIV and the impact it has on their lives. The Warriors offer a message of hope and encourage youth to decrease their risk taking behaviours. The Frontline Warriors are available to speak at any school in SD 57, 28, 56, and 55.

Kyla Turner is the education manager with Positive Living North (PLN), the only Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Services Society in Northern BC. Along with her team of Community Health Educators, Kyla provides free, informative, and interactive workshops throughout Northern BC on topics like relationship skills, consent, SOGI, harm reduction, and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections. Kyla strives to make these sometimes taboo subjects less awkward, and even fun to talk about. Kyla went to high school in Prince George and received her own sexual health education through PLN at CHSS many moons ago. She's very happy to carry on PLN's mission to keep our youth safe and informed about their health.
